This new MAGIC TOUCH EP consists of two originals and remix. "Roses" floats on elongated pianos, chimes, a minimal bassline, with a crucial assist from the ridiculously talented Korean artist MOGWAA on keys. "Wixom" combines swelling pads, Orbital-tinged melodies, techno kicks, and overlapping rave stabs, all leading up to to a blissed out guitar swell. I've also included beatless versions of "Wixom" and "Roses" along with a big remix of the latter from the illustrious COOPER SAVER.
As this was predominately recorded at my parents home in Michigan I wanted to share a brief background of growing up in proximity to the historically rich music city and birthplace of Techno; Detroit and the Black artists without whom, I wouldn't be making electronic music today.
During my teenage years I was able to see legendary Black artists at Motor Lounge, St.Andrews Hall, Bert's on Broadway, Leland City Club, various undergrounds and whatever bars would let me in. There was also the indelible influence of Detroit radio legends like Ken Collier and The Electrifying Mojo; their giant legacies were carried on via WDET & WJLB, which were always playing in the cars. On top of Dee-Jays & Radio there were a handful of record stores to keep us informed; Street Corner Music, Detroit Threads, Melodies & Memories, Record Time, Buy Rite, and later Peoples Records and Hello Records. There are too many inspiring artists from that era to list but I wanted to give thanks to the Black artists who formed Detroit's legacy and laid the foundation, and continue to set the standard within a worldwide movement.
Proceeds of this EP will be donated to the RUTH ELISS CENTER a Detroit social services agency that serves the needs of runaway, homeless and at-risk lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth.

This album is such a fun combination of styles and and immensely satisfying listen. Danceable with plenty of room to breathe and helps me focus too. Glad I got the cassette bc it sounds extra gooey. Can't wait to hear more from Xyla :) caramobazgo
